I agree with you 99% but wonder if you have really looked at the whole picture. DOn't mean to be critical just food for thought.

I've had 3 accounts on Outlook and the email is fine. The problem comes in when you're switching between Contacts, Email and Calendar. I've got a machine with 2GB Ram so there's enough juice to work with.

Try the same thing in Gmail and it's super quick despite it being on the web. There are times when I can perform a search quicker on Gmail than I can on Outlook (yes I have indexing enabled)

Plus Outlook is only really good for an exchange account or POP. Try adding an IMAP account and it practically crawls. Two way communication is of increasing importance to me.

iTunes is definitely slow and bloaty too. Apple can't write software for Windows. But Winamp is of a decent speed. I haven't given Songbird 1.0 a test yet but 0.7 did seem decent, not enough to switch though.

I agree, there is no alternative to Outlook but many people are still unknown to its power. I've got 4 accounts set up on it but still don't feel it's slow. I've run this on a system with 1GB RAM, which is slowly becoming obsolete, and it runs like a dream. If people want a streamlined version with lesser features there's always Outlook Express or now as it's called, Windows Mail. And about WMP, even itunes is slow when loaded with quite a lot of music...it's just a software thing!
